No. 14 Is My Favorite

Tom Woods wrote a list of things that non-Ron Paul republicans are essentially saying by choosing a mainstream candidate. They’re all great, but number 14 was particularly outstanding. It reads: “(14) If someone has a drug problem, prison rape is the best solution I can think of.”

It is so unpolished and brutally honest. It betrays the essence of government for all of the violence and inhumanity it truly is. The state and its willing accomplices have decided: “let’s take a person addicted to drugs, who’s harmed no one but has lost control of his life, and incarcerate him.”

For this group, the best solution for someone chemically dependent on an arbitrarily outlawed substance is to kidnap him and lock him in a cage like an animal. Publicly humiliate him, strip him of his rights, and practically destroy any chance he’ll have at a normal life afterwards.

Being subjected to all of the institutionalized violence inherent in a prison environment ought to be bad enough. But a victim of this system must also fend off those inmates who already have a penchant for violence, or are made so by virtue of their status as prisoners. Such sociopathic programs have no place in a free society and should be eliminated forthwith.
