This afternoon I received the e-mail below from Congressman Kevin Yoder.
Of course the correct answer is B, no. But they’re all dumb answers, really. The law shouldn’t be repealed and replaced. It should simply be repealed, along with every law enacted since. There should be no interference in any market by any government agency at any level. Period.
That so many in the GOP cry crocodile tears over the latest intrusion into our lives, all the while supporting Medicare and Medicaid, should be cause for ridicule. Sadly though, too many fail to see how forcing individuals to pay for the healthcare of others via Medicare/aid is any different than through a coercive system as the Affordable Care Act.
Laurence Vance asks over at the LRC blog: “Why are Republicans so upset about the Obamacare individual mandate?” Indeed, why, given they’d all like to force us into their own version of socialized medicine?
