Well, sure it’s a delegated power, but that doesn’t mean it has to be, or that it necessarily has to be a monopoly power. Nothing in that clause suggests that congress and congress alone may “establish post offices and post roads.” Besides, why should anyone care about the constitution? Virtually no one in government does.

Oh, now you’re just just being provocative! The power “to establish post offices and post roads” is in the US Constitution for a reason: Benjamin Franklin put it there. The mails have bound the United States together for all of their existence. The Post Office’s demise will coincide with the nation’s, both of which I agree, are close at hand.

Let’s hear no more about the “magic” of markets! Telecommunications is a part of infrastructure, which is a function of government. Telecommunications were a logical extension of the mails–just as no one doubts the president is commander-in-chief of the Air Force, and not just the Army and Navy.
