Yesterday at lunch I caught about two minutes of The Huckster’s radio show, in which he and that paragon of freedom, Orin Hatch, we’re discussing marriage.
I came in at the tail end, long enough to hear them exalting the federal government and making a big deal out of the DOMA, and then The Huckster said ultimately people should be free to decide the issue. Of course being free to decide meant taking a vote, and then having 51% employ the power of the state against the remaining 49%, forcing them to live how the majority sees fit. In other words, he was advocating collectivism, and denying that individuals should be free to decide the issue.
