Karen DeCoster posted the video below on the LRC blog, along with the following commentary: “…things being the way they are in Detroit, when storms knock out traffic lights, it is typically at least one week before they get fixed. In the spontaneous order that results, I blaze through the lights much quicker, and my commuting time is always shortened.”
This is something I always enjoy about driving when the power goes out (but, unfortunately it’s never out as long in the Kansas City area). It’s always fun to see how much more efficiently traffic flows when the lights aren’t working, plus commutes are always shorter.
