An Arrogant and Antisocial Policy

If there ever was one, this is it. Mises.org’s featured article today was by Mike Reid, entitled “The Tyranny of the Cultural Curators,” and described the truly sociopathic policy being imposed on the Jarawa tribe in India. In a sick attempt to “protect the lifestyle” of the tribe, the government has partioned them off and placed them on what is essentially a wildlife preserve for humans, and banned all outside contact, against the wishes of the tribe.

This seems to be the logical progression of the State’s arrogant attempt to “protect” endangered species. If it can be done for birds and elephants, why not subject human beings to the same treatment, all for their own good, of course?
